Can Canadian on tourist visa apply for visitor visa or OCI from India

Hello Friends,

I am from Toronto , as per the Toronto consulate rules if I want to apply for OCI or Visitor Visa my Work Permit need to be valid for next 6 months , where my Work-Permit is expiring in next 4 months
This is max extension and we are not applying for PR and moving permanently back to India
Does any one have idea if I take tourist Visa for my Son then he can apply for Visitor Visa or OCI from India ?
Or what can be done in this situation ?

Apply for X type visa (Entry visa). After going to India on X visa you can apply for OCI. Don't take T visa (Tourist visa), it has a maximum limit of 6 months stay in India, it is useful only for short visits to India.
