Travel plan during the passport expiry less than 6 months
I am on H-1B visa. I am traveling to India from Nov 14 to Dec 17 2016. My passport is expiring on 17th May 2017. I recently heard that employees traveling on passports that expire in fewer than six months have increasingly been denied airline boarding or been detained upon arrival in certain foreign destinations. Could you let me know whether this is going to effect my travel plan ? If yes, could you suggest the alternatives? Also, how many days would it take to apply for the renewal of passport in India using Tatkal?
