  • Travel to india with PIO

    Hi all..
    I know, many have posted
My kid has PIO got in 2014, we traveled to india then have not got any lifelong validity stamp.
We will be traveling to india in dec & return jan. Can my kid go with just his Pio card? Also, we will be traveling via UAE, will they be checking his PIO card?
Do, they check PIO card on return also?
Or do I need to get visa? Not planning to get OCI with requirement to renew every time the passport is renewed since my kid is minor & i will be renewing passport every 5 years. Some advice will be appreciated.

PIO card is the lifelong visa, no need to apply another Visa unless the old passport when applied the PIO card lost or damaged. you always can travel with 3 passorts otherwise

UAE may not check the PIO card but keep it handy!

UAE may not ask for the PIO card but I would recommend keeping it handy, just in case.

Also, if PIO card has lifetime validity and does not require getting it reissued ever, why the hell does the Indian government want OCI cards reissued every time when a person renews their foreign passport? OCI was supposed to be a superior deal with lifetime validity, plus some added benefits that PIO card does not!

PIO card is lifelong visa, in fact, to in lieu of PIO to OCI is not mandatory, is preferable. and, OCI reissue also not mandatory, if card holder has not major changes, I have clients got freak out from this incorrect information, but they have no issue when travel back to India holding 3 passports. OCI definitely the superior dear compare to PIO, but what i am saying is not mandatory to do it. for example, if cardholder is foreign apply basis on Indian spouse, his/her OCI approval is going to take forever. Plus, if cardholder previous Canadian naturalization, then Landing paper and address reference is asked, and they may not have it. so maybe better off carry the PIO card as life time visa.

Three passports = 10 to 15 year old OCI = face appearance changed

If a person was allowed to travel with three passports that means the OCI card was at least 10 to 15 years old in case of a child (and 20 to 30 years old in case of an adult) and that would mean that there has to be changes in person's appearance in those 10 to 15 years (or 20 to 30 years), but still OCI reissue was not required (EVEN with the changes in facial appearance!)

I am glad that you are offering free service, because in your reply to my another post you are asking to pay for your professional services and that made me confused.

                  Keep up the good work.

By the way, good English skills and correct grammar are required beyond graded assignments.
