Status of OCI in lieu of PIO applied online at passport.gov.in

Hi,

I live in California and when I applied "OCI in lieu of PIO" for my son in Dec 2016, the Consulate General of India, San Francisco website directed me to passport.gov.in/OCI for a complete online filing process. I completed the process as mentioned on the website and received the application file number but no further communication. The status inquiry on the website is only for applications filed at Indian missions.

Appreciate if anyone followed similar process and can share how the experience was, and ways to get status.

besides you had done the form filling from Government website, you will still have to go to CKGS website at in.ckgs.us to complete the order form. currently, their appointment is fully booked, I will advise you to apply as postal method on selecting method of submission from CKGS website.
