So I applied for OCI and renunciation separately on CKGS. Wasn't really sure how I managed that but I did. I got an update notice that my US passport is being sent back to me from CKGS in Chicago, but no update on my OCI card...how will I know I have received oci status? I went through the CKGS process to determine what type of visa I needed...having been adopted from India I applied for the OCI in lieu of PIO - which prompted me for a new OCI card.
Will there be something in my US passport stating I've received OCI status?
Does anyone know how long the it takes for the OCI card to be dispatched from the DC Embassy back to Chicago, processed there, and then onto me?
