Applying OCI card from India

Hi,
We are visiting India next month and we are planning to apply for OCI card from India.
We have read the process and came to know that my baby's birth certificate needs to be apostilled.
But there is no detail mentioned in the site, from where the birth certificate can be apostilled. some one raised one question in immihelp that FFRO office has suggested to get his baby's birth certificate apostilled by Secretary of state where baby is born.

After reading this forum , I got my baby's birth certificate apostilled from secretary of state, USA. I called to FRRO helpdesk but they are saying this apostille document also needs to be attested by MEA.
Can you anyone guide me the exact process in this regard in case anyone has experienced applying OCI card from India? Thanks in advance.

At least you have got success in your first step. I am also applying OCI for my child from Mumbai and they asked for Apostilled Birth certificate. I don't know how to get it from India. Kindly guide me how did you get your baby's birth certificate apostilled from secretary of state ? Have you approached any agency who can help obtain apostilled birth certificate? How long does it takes and what are the charges?

I hope you get succeed in your second step done attestation from MEA. I guess you may directly contact MEA helpdesk to inquire about it. From where are you applying OCI card?

I am applying OCI for my child from Mumbai FRRO and they asked for same Apostille USA birth certificate. Could you please guide me how did you obtain Apostille birth certificate? Do you know any agency who can help with it? how much they charge?
