Wonder if anyone else has encountered a similar issue. I am trying to convert my daughter's PIO to OCI she has a Canadian passport she is now married to a Pakistani . The Indian consulate here in Toronto told me to get an affidavit attested by the Pakistani Consulate that she has not applied or holds a Pakistani passport. We wet to the Pakistani consulate and they refused to give such an attestation saying that they could only provide consular services to their citizens .
Went back to Indian consulate but they insist that this affidavit is required . So now in a Catch 22 situation caught in the politics between India and Pakistan.
Any suggestions on what I can do ?
