Quick Question about OCI in lieu of PIO card

Hi everyone,

I applied for my child's OCI in lieu of PIO card in December 2017 (DC office), the status is still "Documents Printing: Under Process"
My question was: Do I need to send in his passport at any stage?

Looks like this is different for each consulate. For Chicago, you have to send the original passport with the application. Others' seem to ask you to send it later. If you paid for the mailing of the application and OCI card, there should be a shipping item for passport. That should give you a hint. Or check the status on the CKGS website, they have full list of activities from receiving the application to sending the OCI card to you. Does any future activity say you have to send the passport?
