I have the following questions in regard to PIO/OCI.
1. My son was born in US and is now 6, he has a PIO card issued in 2012 that is valid till 2027 that he got based on his old passport. His new passport was issued in 2017.
2. I have my citizenship interview next month and expecting to get my US citizenship soon.
Do I do a "OCI in lieu of PIO" for my son or e-visa? I am thinking a visa may be better as I will have to renew the OCI every 5 years vs visa which will be valid for 10 yrs.
If I do apply for "OCI in lieu of PIO" for my son, is it better to wait till I get my US passport or do I apply right now?
Once I get the US passport, is it better to apply for OCI card or e-visa for me? We dont have immediate travel plans to India.
thanks
