Any risk to OCI if you apply for evisa while pending renewing OCI

I see many members here applying for evisa while waiting for new OCI or renewing of OCI due to age rule. My question is if you have OCI for the kid and you need to renew. But the process to renew is complicated. So if you apply for evisa do you risk cancellation of OCI forever? Some one casually mentioned this to me but hope to get more info thru here. Has this happened to any one?

No, that is what CKGS/consulate suggest to do (apply for eVisa) if you are travelling soon and can't wait for OCI.

People shared their experience in this forum about travelling with OCI linked to the previous passport and seems there are no problems. I am not suggesting that but sharing what I read. It takes approx 2 months for OCI renewal. So, plan accordingly.

I just submitted OCI renewal for one of my kid and it is not complicated. It is far easier than applying for a new OCI. $25 misc change fee + CKGS fees + shipping charges. Total around $100.

Can you please let me know how did you fill the
"Shipping through CKGS"
Always it was showing me an error as "address you entered does not validate". Not sure how to move forward..
Can you please help me with this?
