Foreign Birth Certificate needs Apostilled

Hi,
Submitted my OCI application in NY...had email from CKG " INDIAN CONSULATE HAS RETURNED YOUR APPLICATION AS THEY REQUIRE YOUR APOSTILLE BIRTH CERTIFICATE". Problem is that i was born in UAE and the embassy here has no service to appostille BC, have to travel to UAE which i can't....what are my options ? withdraw the application and loose $360 fees ?

I was a prior Indian citizen who was born in the Philippines, I did not send an apostilled birth certificate to CGI San Francisco, however, I did send them a certified true copy of my birth certificate from the issuing authority. Just like the UAE, the Philippines is not a part of Hague Convention hence does not apostille birth certificates.

My application was accepted by the consulate in San Francisco and is now under processing per my status on the Government of India website.
