  • PIO application form questions

I am applying for PIO for my 3 month old daughter. We (her parents) are Indian citizens.

Since we are applying for our 3 month old I was not sure what to answer for the following questions on the PIO application form.
    1. In 3(b), what permanent address should we put (Indian address or US address)? Should I provide any proof?

    2. Should we put NONE or N/A in places where we don't have any relevant info?

    3. What information should I provide in 14? Should I be providing my and wife's details? What should we submit as proof of residence?.

    Thanks.

For best response, write down the actual questions here, instead of 'what should we do in Q 14'? Do you expect people to go and look for the form first and answer?

    Please provide complete information here.

      Here's the questions:

      1. As per the form, 3 (a) asks for the Present Address: and 3 (b) asks for Permanent Address:. Present address is my current US address. What should I put for 3 (b) Permanent Address (Indian or US)?

      2. Question 14 is:
Whether the applicant of either of his/her parents or any of his/her grandparents or great grandparents was born and was permanent resident in territories falling in present day India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, as on the date of the notification of the Scheme, i.e. 30.3.1999, if so, the following details may be indicated:

      Name and relation
      Proof of residence,etc.
      Date & place of birth
      Nationality held
      Passport details (previous and present)

      (Enclose photocopy of relevant documents)
(Note: If the applicant is a spouse of a citizen of India or of a person who or either of whose parents, grandparents or great grandparents was born and was permanent resident in territories falling in the present day India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, his/her full particulars including date and place of birth, proof of residence, nationalities held and passport details (previous and present) may be given.)

Should I be providing my and wife's details ? What should we submit as proof of residence?.

Please note that I am filling this PIO application for my 3 month old daughter who is a US Citizen and we (her parents) are Indian Citizens.

        1. If you have a green card, put US address. If you are on visa, put Indian address.

        2. You can just provide the details of one person.
If the address is that you write is same as the one on the passport, provide the copy of that.
Otherwise, provide something like copy of ration card etc.

          Pio related

          Hi,

I am a canadian citizen and married to a refugee claimant (wife) who is also a canadian citizen. My wife is from nepal and I am from India. She is the principal applicant on the Landing Paper and I am her dependant. My Landing Paper states that I am a dependant of refugee ( DR1). So my question is can I apply for PIO card?

Thanks in advance for the response
