  • PIO card question

    Hi everyone,
I recently got a PIO card for my son. His US passport expires this december, and I saw that the PIO card has the Passport number, and the issuance state details in it. I am renewing his US passport now.

Now my question is , do I have to send the PIO card back to the Indian embassy to get these new passport details updated or just carry both US passports everytime I travel ?

    Thanx
    shyam

    shyam,

We had this question too and asked our Indian consulate (SF). Their answer was to send the PIO card back to get the passport details updated, using the "miscellaneous services" form and paying a small fee. It took them about a week.

    Hope this helps,

    Tamtom
