PIO Card - Father Name Change

Hi,
I have got PIO card for my kid recently and father name in PIO card is spelled wrong("Srinivasulu Naidu" instead of "Sreenivasulu Naidu"). I tried calling Indian Consulate of Chicago several times and invain. Do i need to correct this inorder my kid to travel to india? If so, what is the process?

Yes and no

Yes you can travel with the typo.

However, it's best for you to get it corrected. CGI should do it free of charge for you if you've submitted the name correctly and they made the mistake.

The least you should do is write to them by return receipt.

Sometime back I had a post in the forum on how to make appropriate complaints so that these guys start responding quicker.

Since you're affected in this case, you need to try and spare some of your valuable time and make a lot of complaints.
