Passport Renewal - CGI Houston

Hello,

I have sent my passport for renewal to consulate general in houston almost 6 weeks ago and have not received it yet. I have tried calling them and also emailing them but did not get any response back. I have my tickets booked for Nov 24th. to visit a sick relative in India. What should I do? Should I contact a lawyer?

Go to the CGI

You should personally go to CGI. Take your document copies and ID with you.

Make sure you don't accept any BS responses from them and fight for your PP.

The PP in the US CGI should not take more than 3 - 4 days at the max.

Do have your proof of dispatch with date/time stamp.

they did respond to emails in my case. and they do specify 3 weeks time not 4-5 days when the original pasport was issued in India.

Leave some allowance for teh festival season ( they celebrate all Indian festivals muslim as well as hindu as well as American holdays).
