Good Morning,

If a person was born in India in 1970, then moved to the U.S. and became a U.S. citizen, how would he apply for OCI?

For requirement #3 taken from, /oci-application-process-in-usa/, please clarify any other valid basis to claim for a grant of OCI.

Approximately what is the timeframe before being notified of OCI status?

1. Just like anyone else that qualifies.

2. If he was born in India, he qualifies for it. He can show the proof of his previous passport.

3. 3 to 4 months.

If he does not have a passport, would a record of his birth signed and dated by the head clerk at Statistical Health Dept and a record of birth at the hospital be sufficient?

• All of which will be mailed in duplicate to:
