Getting PIO card

Hi,

I and my spouse are Indian citizens and are here on L1/L2 visas resp. We were blessed with child in US. We have got US passport for our baby now. Need to know following things:
1) How n where do I apply for PIO card ?
2) For how long my baby can stay in India on basis of PIO card? Do we have to report in police station in India ?

The child can live for 180 days on PIO but since minors are exempt from registration requirement, the baby will not have to register at poilice station and hence can stay as long as needed.
