I found a lot of great information on your web site about both PIO and OCI applications for India. Thanks!
My wife and I were born in India and were Citizens of India before becoming naturalized citizens of the US many years ago. In reviewing the OCI information I notice that in our case we need to supply proof of Indian citizenship after Jan 26, 1950. Unfortunately we had to surrender our Indin passports to the US government when we became US citizens.
Would copies of our birth certificates, showing birth in India, be considered proof enough for this purpose? If not, how can we obtain copies of our previous citizenship of India? Would our school certificates be sufficient?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
