Indian Locations for PIO Card Endorsments/Renewals

Hi

I believe that there is an endorsement procedure for changing/updating new passport no's in the PIO card.

I have read about the procedures in the forum (Thank you ! So useful) about renewal and endorsement - however i am not aware of where to get this done in India.

I live in Bangalore and wanted to know where i need to go to change the details of the PIO Card. I heard there are places to do it in Delhi and Chennai - anyone has any more details on that? Any addresses and locations would be helpful

Is if safe to mail in?? and where to mail? address??

PIO Endorsement in Bangalore

Hello,

You can get the PIO endorsement done in Bangalore @ Police Commissioner's office, Queen's Road.

I assume that you have a valid FRO and a new passport issued.

All you need is couple of photocopies of new passport, original FRO, photocopies of parent's passport + one application to commissioner of police on a white paper mentioning that you need endorsement....

The entire procedure takes couple of days and is hassle free. We just got this done.

Thanks so much for the useful information.
Was not looking forward to travelling all the way to another city just for an endorsement.

Strangely, when i went to the FRRO to get my res permit extension and the what not the American passport office in charge, specifically told me that they do not do the PIO endorsment here and that i would need to go to Delhi etc..
So the fact that you have told me this is possible is fab.
