  • Photos for PIO card

    Hi Guys,

Where can get the photos of dimensions (3.5cms * 3.5cms)mentioned on the site? Walgreens,CVS pharmacy photos are big and they are not ready to cut them to size for a PIO card. Where and how did you guys get the photos? Please advice.

    Regards,
    Venkat

If you're in Chicago, read on. I got it done few weeks back from Devon. There's a shop by name of Sejal Photo [or something similar]. Size was perfect 35mm*35mm. The shop owner though gave me photo with blue background [as per his knowledge it has to be blue], which I got changed to white there and then.

    Hope it helps.

      Photo 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm - Or 1.4 inchex x 1.4 inches

3.5 cm = 35 mm or 1.37 inches. They accept 1.4 inch x 1.4 inch pictures as they know this is the best we can do easily in the U.S.

You can change the background in Adobe Photoshop and then use MS Word to print the photos on photo-paper with the correct dimensions.

MS Word allows you to re-size the photos properly as required.

If you want to make it easier for you, invest in a software from:

      http://www.onthegosoft.com

This s/w has the dimensions for USA, UK, European Union and Brazil.

Also, it has the option to add dimensions for other nations.

      Hope this helps.

      Good luck.

My local walgreens refuses to print 2 X 2 photos (6 nos) on a 6 X 4 card for the usual 30-40 cents and tried to charge me $4 per picture, $24 instead of 30-40 cents. Needless to say, I asked them to keep my picture, frame it if it makes them happy and left for a CVS to get it done.

Trying to rip me off for a simple passport picture. Not gonna let that happen!!

In case of emergency or for perfection ...

... I go to RITZ CAMERA. They're usually in Malls in my area, they're expensive, but do a fantastic job.

            Rtiz Camera

Yes I Had Got It Done In Ritz Camera Studio. I Took My Infant Daughter And They Took The Picture And Cut The Photos To 3.5*3.5. It Took Less Than An Hour.

              Ritz Camera ...

... good for you. They also download the digital image on a floppy if you take one with you.

Next time I might keep my 16GB flash drive with me and see if they can put the image on it!

              Take care.

Do it yourself (DIY) and it costs only few cents

You can take a picture against light background and go to http://www.epassportphoto.com and select India for 3.5cm X 3.5 cm pictures, upload and follow instructions.

And order photos online either in CVS or Costco pickup. It will cost only few cents.

Make sure the background is light color for Indian PIO/Visa etc and the background is white for US Citizenship, passport etc

Make sure there is enough light and no shadows while you take the picture.

                Hope this helps
