She is an american and I doubt if any quotas apply to her based on the caste. She has every access to good education and affordability due to you being in US. Let the people that actually "need" the reservation due to their social and economic situation in India use it and benefit from it.

        When is the baby born?

        Hi,

When is your baby born in US? is it recently or few years back.
I am asking this because they stopped giving OCI card to US born babies with Indian Parents? They used to give earlier but its been few years now they stopped it. The only option left now is PIO card or Indian Visa.

If baby is using OCI or PIO Card then they get into NRI Quota, which is 5% I guess.

        Thanks

          Hi -

I am getting my baby due date as Aug 9. So I want to make sure about the schooling reservation before I go for the US passport and OCI / PIO.

Basically I am not a permanent resident of US and not having plan to stay here. My deputation will be till 2009 Dec. I really can't take the the schoiling expense as NRI when I return to india.

Is there any other way that I can take this situation? My primary focus is to NRI schooling in india and the next only I can come to US citizenship.

          Thanks

AFAIK and as heard from many people in Bangalore, there is no difference in school fees for US born vs India born kids. It is same. However, already the charges for getting admission in a decent school in Bangalore is not less than one lakh rupees.
