Indian Passport for US citizen infant

Hi,

I am on H1b and my wife on H4. My child is US born, got his US passport just now. Can I apply for Indian passport as well? I didn't see any notes/restrictions on this on Indian Embessy NY website. Do any of you have any expeience on this?
