PIO card and father's name

Hi,

I received the birth certificate for my US born son. But it has a hyphen in the father's middle name. The father's passport does not have hyphen in the middle name. So I applied for correction of the birth certificate to remove the hyphen from father's middle name. Meanwhile, I applied for and recieved the US passport without any problem since the US passport does not contain father's name. Now, can I apply for PIO card with this birth certificate or should I wait till I get the corrected birth certificate?
