  • OCI approved but not PRINTED

    Hi,

In tracking my OCI application online, I see that it was approved on 14-NOV-2008, but the printing status still says "NOT PRINTED". In reviewing other OCI cases here, I see that usually printing is done in a day or two.

Anything that I need to do other than sit tight and hope that the status changes one day.

    Thanks

    Have patience ...

... cool down and relax. It'll be printed shortly and dispatched to your local CGI.

You can't panic for a couple of days delay. Things may change abruptly and the delay may turn into a couple of weeks too.

    Take care.

I am in the same boat. OCI granted on Nov 11, but not printed. Update the forum if anything changes in your case.

        OCI approved but not printed

I am in the same state. Registration status was granted on 11th oct. 2008 and it's 29th Nov 2008 (> then 1.5 months) today and it still shows not printed or sent. I sent an email from the NY embassy's website asking about the same and did not get any response back (been more then 10 days since I emailed)..Any suggestions on what I should do? I understand they are very busy at the NY Indian embassy..but this seems unusually delayed..
        Thanks in advance.

        Sam

I was actually able to speak to a representative at NY consulate (unbelievable!!) regarding my OCI status.

She mentioned that if it has been more than 1 week since the OCI has been granted but not printed, there is some issue with the photograph.

I could not speak to the other department that is supposed to help in resolving this issue, but I will continue my phone calls.

In my case the photo was not accepted so I had to re-submit Part A of my OCI application along with the new photo. I was told it will take about 2 weeks for the card to arrive. I re-submitted the application on 12/09.

There are very detailed and ...

... clear guidelines on the photograph requirements.

I trust most of you have not sent them unacceptable pictures.

                  Good luck.

How were you notified that you had to resubmit the app and photos. I am in the same boat with ACK date of 10/20 and Granted date 11/25 but not printed and hence not sent to NY.

I had the similar situation. Called up CGI NY. Their website says OCI enquiries can be made between 2-4PM. After several tries for few days, at which point I was actually thinking of going personally to CGI NY, finally someone answered. I had to submit PartA again (in duplicate) with signature and new photo i.e. 2 copies of Part A with signature and pictures. Original photo had some issues and was rejected. I went to CGI NY and dropped these off at 12.30PM.

Within 2-3 days, the document was printed and dispatched.

The experience with CGI NY staff has been good. But very tough to get them on phone. May be they are very busy due to work load. If one has time and live in NY area, he/she can visit the consulate during lunch break or something. I think OCI window is open at 9.30 in morning and again at 12.30 in the afternoon.

                            Will keep trying

I have tried several times over the last few weeks between 2 and 4. My wife and I took the pictures at the same place and they were the same quality/lusture etc. Her application went through and documents printed etc and were dispatched to NY in quick time. I guess, I will do what you did in terms of simply re-submitting the application with new photos.
I will try and call them a couple more times this week ( I just hope I dont die of shock if some one actually picks up the phone ) Thanks for the post

Actually I forgot to mention. After trying for few days, I finally called one of the consul numbers - I don't remember exactly, but I think it was Consul-Visa. You can try ur luck.
