Do not waste money by expediting for US Passport paying extra $60. We applied for passport by regular processing. We took oath on 11/28/08 and went straight to a local post office in Raleigh, and paid US$75 application fee and $25 execution fee. We got our passports on 11/26/08 and Original Citizenship Certificate on 12/1/08. You don't need to check the status online because you won't find any. Wait for a week you should definitely get it no matter how close your travel plans are.
