Dear All:
I was born in the UK in 1972 and was brought back to India in 1974 at age 2 and have been in India ever since. I recently applied for and received a British passport on the basis of my birth there in 1972. The British consulate instructs that I register myself at the FRRO.
My problem is: I am not in a position to immediately leave for the UK and it will take me at least a couple of years to have the means to do so. My wife, children and parents are all Indian citizens and I wish to remain in India indefinitely. What do I do after registering at the FRRO? Can I apply for a visa/PIO/OCI to remain indefinitely?
