I renewed my sons Canadian Passport in India and applied for oci reissue at Chennai FRRO(6 weeks ago).I have received an acknowledgement from Chennai FRRO but online staus`shows "UnderProcess". Presently we are
residents of Bangalore with Canadian passports and oci. I need to travel with my family out of India for a short trip in the first week of April.
My question is.
1.If we don't get the new oci card for my son by the time we travel can he use the old oci card and u visa attached to the old passport. Has anybody had the similar situation in the past few months where they had to go out or come into India with a new passport for their minor child with the old oci card and u visa on the old passport.Did they have any problems at Indian immigration.
My concern is what the guidelines for misc service on mha website says

OCI registration certificate and visa have got to be re-issued by availing this service, each time a new passport is issued up to the completion of 20 years of age and once after completing 50 years of age.

2.Is there any phone no i can make or email somebody who will tell me how much longer my sons oci will take.(Chennai FRRO told me to look online on MHA website since the processing of OCI is done at New Delhi).
