OCI- Expired passport

Here is the situation:

My 6 year old has OCI, his US passport expired so we got new passport this week. We are traveling to India next week. He also has 10 year visa ( till 2013) on his old passport. OCI website says that the U visa must be x'fered to new passport ( which takes couple of months).

Will we face problem ? Can they count his 10 year valid visa ? Will x'fereing visa to new passport help ( as x'fereing it takes 1 day and x'fering OCI U visa takes couple of months ) !!

OCI Passport Expiration

You dont have to worry. The visa on the old passport is still valid. However you have to carry both the old and the new passport while travelling. If you want to avoid this in the future you can have the new visa stamp in the new passport for a fee.

Hi,
I too have the same question. I want to know prior to applying for an OCI, if I need to renew the OCI in the future as the passports always have an expiry date and we get new Passport number each time they expire.
So I am looking forward to know the answer myself. If someone knows about it please share their experiences.
