PIO Card for my 1 year old-Apostille copy of US passport

• can anyone let me now how to obtain Apostilled copy of US passport for my 1 year old for PIO Card in CAlifornia state ?
  I hv notarized it thru Notary Public in Califonia.Is this sufficient
  
• If so in California how to I obtain that ?
• Did anyone submit it thru mail in SFO Consulate

Looking at the SF Consulate website there doesn't seem to be any mention of an Apostille requirement for PIO. My PIO from the Houston consulate required only a notarized copy. I applied through the mail.

* If applying by mail, Photocopy of all documents including Photo should be notarized and attached to the application. If original supporting documents are enclosed, there is no need of notarization. When the original passport is enclosed, there is no need to notarize photocopy

Note: To enable us properly scrutinize, coloured photocopy of your documents is preferred

That's interesting, though I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'town hall office'. It sounds like you mean city hall, but as the passport is a federal or US document, I don't understand how a local, city or state office could supply any validation or apostille service. The US passport should be appostilled from the authentication department at State of California office. In san francisco, its at 455 golden gate ave.

only SFO requires Apostille copy of passport

How to get apostille

I was on the same boat, I was confused to see the apostille requirements for the copy of the passport. While its not possible for everyone to go the consulate,getting Apostille is not staright forward either. Basically you have to submit the notorized copy of the passport to The Secretary of State's office to get an apostille certificate. let me know if you have any questions.

I checked with SFO consulate and they confirmed that Apostilled is not needed and notarized copy of passport will suffice.
