PIO Card clarification for NY embassy

Hi All,

I am planning to apply for PIO card for my kid who was born in USA.
(Parents hold Indian passport.)I am planning to apply PIO through mail to NY Embassy.


My question here is.

1.Do i need to send my Kids US passport ? If no , do i need get Notorized first and last 3 pages of US Passport or first page is fine?
2. Notorize parents first and last 3 pages of Indian Passport ?
3. Notorized kids birth Certificate ?


I am getting confused , appreciate your help.

did you get any inofrmation on this, i am also in same boat regarding the same, in one place they say they require original US passport along with photocopy, while in another place they say notorised copy, also in one place they ask for the photocopy of parents passoprt, while in another place thay ask for the original, any update ? please let me know

i appied in DC last week for my daughter-- i went in person --

they took the original US passport -- when i asked her, the lady told that thye need original with a copy --

it tkaes 45 business days to get pio card in DC --

No Raj, I haven't heard anything from anyone.

But this link [New ] says we need to send only photocopy with notorized.

I keep postponing this for last 2months.

Please let me know if u get any info.

Information at New is the latest. We just verified latest procedures last week at all the consulates and updated everything accordingly.
