  • Probelms due to Correction in my Indian passport

I recently got my passport and the following fields in the passport are mispelled.

    1) Given Name
    2) Surname
    3) Mother's Name
    4) Father's Name

I consulted the RPO in hyderabad and found that it was a clerical error. They wrote my corrected names in the first page and got it stamped and signed by the passport superintndent.

Now my question is this: When I go for visa,etc.. they might not turn the page and see my corrected name. Instead, they might either issue a visa with my wrong name on the cover of the passport or they might reject my visa application.
Am I right ? If so is there a solution for this like attaching a letter along with the visa application, detailing these issues ?

    Thank You

They should stamp a line on the very first page saying look for correction on page #x.

You should not be freaking out that the name correction will not be observed. They will look at it and that will not be a ground for rejection.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
