We applied for OCI in early June 2009 and hoped to receive th same by the end of September 2009. As we have to purchase the travel, I was wondering if anyone has experienced similar situation. I appreciate any feedback/experience if the OCI process will be completed and our passports stamped with the U Visa. Has anyone obtained a short term Tourist Visa to fill the gap between obtaining the OCI and Critical Travel Needs?
My second opart deals with a request to the Embassy of India, Washington DC. Should I provide a detail account of the chronology of the events and address a letter to the Consular Office, OCI Cell? I have waited for 12 weeks as the web page has suggested.
Your positive/negative feedback is sincerely appreciated. Although I was informed that a personal visit to the OCI Cell for Tracking may not yield any results, I am more than happy if PUSH COMES TO SHOVE.
