hello:
I applied for OCI at San Francisco and application packet was returned
Name on US passport and Indian Passport not identical;
Indian Passport shows: Singriwala, Rob Singh Hari Singh
Hari singh is Fathers name
US passport shows : Singriwala, Rob Singh (does not include Fathers name);
All my US drivers license, SS cards show the same name as US passport;
So the OCI cell is advising me to adverstize Name change in Local Newspapers in the US as well as in India and I need to submit copies of newspaper ads as well as the Notrized affidavt ;
I got an affidavit notarized (per format on the CGISF link)
The question relates to Names ad in the local newspaper; has someone posted an ad in local bay area newspaper and also in India; Appreciate a Sample copy [
Most of the ads in local US papers that have Name change are Court related ; I have not seen any general notice ad;
besides from the US perspective I have not really changed my name;
Appreciate any inputs on
1. Which newspaper did you place an ad ?
2. Do you have text of sample ad ?
