Hi, I applied for OCI but it came back since my name is different in Indian Passport verse USA Passport.
Few years back when I got married, I changed my name to my husband’s first name and last name. I also went to court and did it officially. (I had my father's first and last name as my middle/last name and when I got married, I changed my middle name to my husband’s first name and changed my last name to his last name).
My USA passport also indicates that my name has changed and has a form attached to it.
If I send over the court record that states that my name changed, will that be efficient for OCI application? Or Do I still have to fill out the affidavit and advertise in Indian newspaper and USA newspaper for the OCI application to be processed?
Please advice!
