  • OCI Qs - 1. "demand draft" in US and 2. middle name

I am applying for OCI cards for myself and my son. I am a naturalized US citizen while he was born here in US. Applying to CGI San Francisco.

    1. Instead of demand draft, I can pay using US postal money order, right? What about Cashier's Check?

    2. My minor son's "naming convention" is different than mine. He has two given names (first name and middle name), none of which is my first name. There is no place on the form to state his middle name and I am worried his card will come back with my first name as his middle name. Will it?

    3. Do I have to surrender my Indian passport? Just send it in with my OCI application?

    4. Do I send in my US passport or only a copy (photocopies of all pages?)

      Just saw /oci-card/oci-documents.html
      1. Looks like Cashier's Check is OK
      2. Still don't know
      3. Still don't know
      4. First two and last two pages, "self-attested".

      Sound right?

        1. Money order or cashier's check is fine. There is no concept of demand draft in the US.

        2. Just write his name as per his passport. It does not have to have any relationship with your first name.

        3. Yes. Yes.

        4. No. Self-attested photocopy is fine.
