OCI In-Person Enquiry

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please clarify if the Embassy of India, Washington DC does see the OCI Applicant in person as you have described on the web page. It is almost 10 weeks since I submitted my OCI Application and I am curious to know why the process has stalled. Since I live close to the embassy, I may visit the embassy and meet the Attache/Consular Officer - OCI Cell with a prior appointment between Sept 8 - 12, 2009. If the description is incorrect, then a statement to the effect is appreciated. Please respond and clarify if an OCI Applicant can visit and enquire in person.

You can apply in person but can't go in person to check the status. That has to be checked online.
