  • PIO card application from UK

Hi, I want to apply for a PIO card for my wife and newborn baby and have few queries. I would be grateful if someone can answer.

I tried to search for help to fill in PIO card, but it isn't available anywhere, not atleast from indian high commission. PIO card can be applied if spouse is having Indian passport, which I have, but I am confused with question no.13 in the form, which is 'Have you or your parents or grandparents held Indian Passport?' This question gives me trouble, because my wife wants to apply by showing my indian passport and not her parents indian passports. Her parents are having indian passports, but I really don't have time to bring photocopies of those from India. There is no mention of spouse's indian passport or nationality. So how should I answer this question? and Where should I specify that my wife is applying on my indian nationality?
    Any help anyone?

Second this I am not sure about is what to apply for, OCI or PIO? I know what is what but the thing is my wife is already having dual citizenship with Ireland & UK. In that case, can she apply for OCI?
Currently I have almost decied to apply for PIO as we are traveling to india after one & half month and OCI would take longer but still ...

Thanks for your help in advance.

I suggest you spend time and read

    OCI - /oci-card/
    PIO Card - New
    OCI vs PIO - /compare-oci-card-with-pio-card/

That way, you will get a very good undestanding of both of them.

If you still have questions after that, please feel free to post them here and we would be glad to answer them.
