Dear Sir
My son's passport was issued from Dubai. However he is a student in India and comes to Dubai only on vacation. His last name is missing on the passport and he will have difficulties in getting admission to US universities as they reject the application if the last name is missing. I would like to know if the last name can be added to his passport in Dubai consular office since it is too incovenient to get it done in India as this would entail time consuming travel from the hostel campus to passport office and besides I will have to courier all the original docs for proof of last name from here to India .
Considering all the inconvenience involved can the last name be added to his first name here in Dubai itself?
