Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) scheme

Hello,

I am a British citizen and looking to apply for the Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) scheme. Just one question before I start the process, if I was to apply for this and if anything happened to me whilst my stay in India would the British Embassy help me or would I have to rely on the Indian embassy?

You would be subject to Indian laws while you are in India.

If you are British citizne, British Embassy may still be able to help you.

There are no Indian embassies in India.
