Before Apply for PIO card - Plz help

Hi All,

I am going to apply for PIO card for my minor kid. My spouse's passport has already been expired. As part of the process, we need to send the notorized copy of parents passports as well.

My question is that is it ok to send the expired copy or I need to renew the expired passport first and send the copy. Please share your experiences.
