Lost Passport/Replace Visa

I am contacting you on behalf of my employer, Samuel Jon Stewart. He accidentally dropped his 10-year Visa along with his passport on a Continental Airlines plane back in May, 2009. I have contacted the airlines and they have informed me that they only keep passports for 60 to 90 days before sending them to the INS in Washington. The passport has been replaced, but I am unsure of the process for getting a duplicate of his visa. Can you please advise?

He will need to go through the complete process of getting the visa all over again. There is no procedure to get that visa replaced in case of lost/stolen passport.

I do have one more question regarding this please: If we are able to recover his passport with his 10 yr. Visa to India in it, can the India Visa be transferred into his current passport? There are 8 yrs. left on the India Visa. Thank you for any information that might help us.
