  • applying for indian visa

    i born in india and now US citizen.i want to go to india and because its first time i am applying for indian visa on US passport so i have to show up my indian passport in visa office.but unfortunately i lost my indian passport.please help me. its really urgent.

    Assuming you don't have even a photocopy of it, about all you can do is to include a letter or affidavit (or if workable visit a consulate personally) explaining the situation. You should probably count on it taking longer than usual to get the visa, though I'm guessing about that.

    And while you're at it either scan or make color photocopies of your US passport to ensure that any loss of it will not cause problems.

        As you can't supply the original I'd still include a letter with explanation and apply immediately -- it will probably take longer than the standard timing to get the visa. Good luck, and do post the results; it will be helpful for others in the future.
