Renunciation original indian passport ?

During the renunciation process the latest indian passport is being asked for.
Do we get this passport back ?
Does it come along with the renunciation certificate ?

Yes we will get the passport back. Certificate will be attached to the passport and passport will be stamped - "Passport cancelled as holder has acquired US citizenship"
