Can I get Indian Passport Renewal without adding Spouse information?

My company/attorney is filing H1B Amendment in my case and my Indian passport doesn't have validity of 6 mons (it expires in June). So I need to get my passport renewal ASAP..

My wife is in India and she has original marriage certificate with her. All I have is a photocopy and it is not a notarized copy.

Even if I have original copy, I don't think notary officer will notarize as my wife is not in US.

so my question is, if I say married while filling up online application form and provide me spouse information,

is it mandatory to submit notarized marriage certificate and my wife's passport to get her info added to my passport

or do I have option to get my passport renewal first and add her information later...

If I don't have option, then I guess my wife has to send original document + notarized document (notarized in India) as soon as possible so that I can attend Indian embassy..

Please let me know about this.

You can submit regular photocopy of the marriage certificate.
