Hello,
I am an Indian citizen interested in getting OCI for my spouse. My wife is a Canadian citizen born in Canada. Her parents moved to Canada from India and are now Canadians as well.
My questions are:
Can my wife apply for OCI as a foreign origin spouse of an Indian citizen?
OR
Is it mandatory that she apply on the basis of her parents' former Indian citizenship. Her parents do not have OCI and are not interested in getting it either.
If both approaches are possible, is there a reason to chose one path over another?
Thanks!
