I'm just starting out my OCI application, and discovered that my US passport got lost in the black hole that is my home office.
. I do have color scans so I have the # etc. and the expired passport that it replaced.
There's a reasonable shot that the passport will emerge soon, but I am planning t be in India mid-June (that gives me about 3 months). Its not clear to me when I have to send in my US Passport). If I have to send it right at the beginning then I have to bite the bullet and get an expedited one NOW. If, on the other hand, the passport is not required till the paperwork comes back to the San Fran consulate then that makes life easier?
Some clarification would make my life a lot easier
