US multiple visitor visa stamped wb/wt -90 days by mistake

hi there,

I need urgent help.. My in laws came to US on a multiple 10 yr visitor visa a week ago from India. My father in law's passport was stamped for 6 months, but somehow my mother-in-law's passport had wb/wt - 90 days . I am sure this is a mistake but whom do i approach to rectify this. is it ok if they stay 6 months?? can i extend their visa??

They also have multiple Canadian visa so as last resort, can they visit Canada and re-enter US??

Not likely -- if noted and addressed when passing through immigration there may have been a chance, but not after.

Well, in theory they could, but if the immigration officer has a notion that someone is just doing a 'visa run' for renewal (like people did for years in India by visiting Nepal) they could deny entrance altogether. Perhaps an explanation would help, but there's a bit of a risk...

Just by visiting Canada and reentering the U.S. does not give you new I-94 with extended date.

This is a mistake by the immigration officer as wb/wt is only given to visitors coming from seven countries, of which india is not a part of..

so i am in a fix now..

they have multiple visas for both canada and us, so wont it be considered a re-entry??
