My OCI application was rejected because I served in the state police as a CLERICAL WORKER (I live in Australia).
Part B Question 5, I was informed by help desk, that I should enter 'Yes' in the section where it is asked if I've worked in police, and in the comments I specified as a clerical officer in state police, who is the state law enforcement agency. In the proceeding questions I answered 'No' regarding military training etc.
The Indian Consulate is saying that policy has changed however not giving me any proof towards these changes.
Could I please have some help regarding this, whether they will review my application? If anyone has been in the same situation I am in, it would be very much appreciated.
OR whether I should re-apply since the application has been rejected and answer 'No' to the question regarding Military/police/security, etc work, which I incorrectly posted as 'Yes'. But I don't want them to ban me from India either, if they think I have provided false information.
I am eligible for OCI under the Indian Citizenship Act 1955 and I checked CKGS as well as many viable FAQ sections in Visa sites. Once again, if anyone is/has been in the same predicament if they could please respond I'd be very grateful.
Regards
