Applying via ociservices.gov.in vs CKGS website?

I'm based on the West Coast of the US. I want to get a new OCI card since my US passport has been renewed.

To do this, is it better to apply via https://ociservices.gov.in/welcome or https://www.in.ckgs.us/oci/ ? Is there a difference?

It looks like CKGS website requires an affidavit in lieu of originals, but the government website doesn't, so the government website seems a little bit easier. Let me know...

Poxa0s 8 - you are required to fill form on both websites. Start on Govt on india website after fill form at CKGS website. You will have to link your Govt of India application with you CKGS application

Start with CKGS and they will provide a link to fill the Indian govt website to complete. The applications get linked automatically. If there is a problem, call CKGS and they will help you.
