  • Indian Visa help

    Hi,

I applied for a student visa to india, but my passport was sent back to me without a visa in it, and no explaination, what should i do to know the reason for the rejection?
Can i apply for a tourist visa now to visit my husband in india? as my husband who is a foreign national studying in india.
In the visa form i mentioned that i married and i got married recently and i am not planning to change my surname. I just put the same name that appears on my passport in the visa form. And my husband's surname is different from my name? Could this be a reason for the refusal.
Please help me with this issue, i have tried to approach the consulate for the reason of rejection they don't give reasons what should i do to be able to get a tourist visa at least.

    Regarding the student visa:
    - Are you registered as a student with an accredited university in India?
    - Did you submit appropriate documentation about that with your visa application?
    - Did you include a copy of your marriage certificate?

You're now at a slight disadvantage for a tourist visa, as you'll now have to answer 'yes' to the question "Have you ever been refused a visa to India?" If you go ahead with the tourist visa, do include information about that in the application.

I included everything, but i didn't include my marraige certificate because i was applying for a student visa and there was no mention of providing marraige certificate. All in all i supplied bank statement, bonafied paper from institute, birthcertificate, the reciept of fees given to institute, everything that was mentioned in the instructions, but i didn't supply marraige certificate because i didn't see the need for it. Also if i do apply for a tourist visa i know i have to put that i had applied for visa and it was denied. and the reason i don't know what to put for the reason because they didnt give a reason for it. What can i do to increase the chances of getting a tourist visa, should i write a note that i want to visit my husband and include that with the visa application? I am in a very helpless situation i really need assistance, any help will be appreciated.
